Description
This easy wagyu beef meatballs recipe is rich, juicy, and full of flavour — baked in marinara and finished with golden cheese. A weeknight dinner with weekend-level taste.

For the Meatballs:
- 500g wagyu beef mince (20% fat)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
For the Sauce:
- 700ml of marinara sauce or homemade tomato sauce (see notes)
For the Assembly:
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 190°C.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all the meatball ingredients – ground meat, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, parsley, milk, egg, minced garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix the ingredients until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 2.5 to 3.8 cm in diameter. You should be able to make approximately 20 meatballs.
- Place the meatballs in an oven-safe dish, pour over the marinara sauce and top with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake the meatballs for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with grated parmesan, fresh basil and parsley.
Notes
If you use passata, always add teaspoon of salt and tablespoon of sugar!
