Description

So, ready to make your own batch of honey roasted macadamias? Trust me, once you’ve tried these, you’ll never want to buy store-bought again. They’re easy, quick, and oh-so-satisfying. Whether you’re snacking on them solo or using them to elevate your favourite dishes, this honey roasted macadamias recipe is a keeper.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 2 cups raw macadamia nuts
  2. 3 tablespoons honey
  3. 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  6. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for a hint of warmth)
  7. 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional, for added crunch)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 160°C (fan-forced) / 325°F and line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Warm the honey mixture: Add the honey, butter and salt to a small saucepan and gently heat until melted and smooth. Add the cinnamon if using.
  3. Coat the macadamias: Place the macadamia nuts in a bowl, pour over the honey mixture and stir until evenly coated.
  4. Spread on tray: Transfer the coated nuts to the prepared tray and spread them out in a single layer.
  5. Roast the nuts: Bake for 10 minutes, stir well, then return to the oven for another 5–10 minutes until golden.
  6. Cool and crisp: Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely on the tray, stirring once or twice as they cool.
  7. Add crunch (optional): Sprinkle with sugar while hot for crunch, or sea salt as they cool for a salty finish.
  8. Finish and serve: Break apart any clusters and serve, or store in an airtight container once fully cooled.
